In these lanes the cars are not required to stop neither to use cash or
cards therefore making the payment process faster and easier.
Vehicles other than cars, can also pay with OBE but they must do so at the manual toll lanes.
HOW DOES THE OBE SYSTEM WORK?
The vehicle must have a OBE attached to the windscreen. An antenna placed in the OBE lane reads the OBE information as it passes by, records the transaction and raises the barrier which is located further forward.
The OBE is usually placed behind the rear view mirror. Beware however if your car has a nonthermal windscreen in which case the car manufacturer will have prepared a special spot in the windscreen for the OBE to be attached to. Consult the car manual for this information.
OBE lanes are well indicated at every toll station.
INTEROPERABILITY
The Electronic Toll Collection system in Estepona-Guadiaro
motorway is interoperable using Via-T OBE.
Every vehicle that has a Via-T OBE, will be able to be use it on the Autopista
del Sol.
Any of our customers who has a Via-T OBE will be able to use it on any
Spanish toll motorway where the sign (pictured right) is displayed.
